3Q's video storage was designed as high-performance S3 object storage with Ceph as its open-source foundation. Unlike general-purpose storage, 3Q's video storage is optimized for video delivery – not just for intranets, but also for YouTube-like portals on the public internet or videos on websites.
3Q operates its own independent European video infrastructure. It runs on its own hardware distributed across numerous data centers, not on rented cloud instances from U.S. hyperscalers. As a result, 3Q is independent of Amazon, Google, and other international cloud providers and is an independent, wholly privately owned European company. All video data remains within the EU.
3Q is independent of hyperscaler price increases. Instead of outsourcing infrastructure, 3Q invested many years ago in developing the sophisticated expertise of its own employees. Cloud services are now expensive, whereas proprietary colocation infrastructure can be significantly cheaper – provided the necessary expertise has been cultivated over many years.
All expertise is held by 3Q. Our proprietary infrastructure is optimized for our self-developed online and enterprise video platform. Our support team oversees all aspects with direct infrastructure monitoring and direct access to engineering and product owners.
